China Approves 749 New Crop Protection Registrations in Latest 2026 Batch

China's pesticide regulator, ICAMA (Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs), cleared 749 new crop protection registrations in its eighth batch of 2026, released July 30 — one of the largest single-batch approvals of the year.

Of the total, 39 were technical-grade active ingredients — 13 herbicides, 14 insecticides/acaricides and 12 fungicides — while the remaining approvals covered finished formulations and other product categories. The batch included widely used, patent-expired actives such as saflufenacil, pyroxasulfone, cyantraniliprole and fluopyram, with some registrations achieving purity specifications above typical market standards (fluopyram at 98.5%, ipconazole at 98%). New combination products were also approved, including metconazole + pyraclostrobin for rice bakanae disease and ioxafenacil + glyphosate for non-crop weed control.

A broader pool of qualified domestic producers typically supports more competitive technical-grade pricing over time, though it also means buyers need closer quality due diligence across a larger, more fragmented supplier base.

Sinocropchem continues to track new registrations as they clear and helps international partners identify verified, in-spec suppliers and navigate registration requirements for the China market.
